What this test is
PPBS measures glucose exactly 2 hours after you start a normal meal. It tells doctors how well your insulin response handles the sugar rush from food. Normal is under 140 mg/dL; 140–199 mg/dL suggests impaired glucose tolerance; 200 mg/dL and above suggests diabetes. Usually done together with Fasting Blood Sugar to give a full picture.

FAQs
What counts as a normal meal?
A typical Indian breakfast or lunch — two chapatis, dal, vegetable, rice. Aim for ~50–75g of carbs. Can I do FBS and PPBS in one visit?
Yes — many patients prefer this. Fast overnight, get FBS done, eat breakfast, return after 2 hours for PPBS. Or use home collection for both. Why exactly 2 hours?
Insulin response peaks around 90 minutes. The 2-hour mark catches whether your body has brought sugar back down to normal.
